Texas Highways is, of course, the Texas travel magazine that was created in 1974 by the Texas Department of Transportation and that has evolved into something wonderful in the years since. Though the focus is still on traveling Texas ----- and that would be enough ----- the magazine also takes on Texas history topics, Texas food, recipes, music etc...   This thread is for links to and discussions of Texas Highways articles.

Beauty is only skin deep but Texas is to the bone.

The seldom-visited River Road in Big Bend National Park is one of the remotest, and most beautiful, spots in Texas:
